Fred Burkitt advises tree surgery and landscape contractors on Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor (ArbAC) accreditation, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems, supply-chain schemes such as CHAS, Constructionline, SSIP and RISQS, tenders and pre-qualification, and day-to-day HR. He owns Burl Consulting Ltd, which acquired Elcoat Limited and continues its work with the same director-level expertise clients have relied on for many years.

Background

Fred came to consultancy from the arb industry itself. He founded The Blue Tree Company (UK) Ltd, a Hertfordshire tree surgery contractor, in 2013, ran it as Managing Director until 2025 and remains involved at a strategic level, having taken it through Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor status in 2016 and ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification as a single integrated management system in 2018. He has built these systems and kept them running, which is why his advice is practical.
